Bumblebee species have been in decline for many years, and yet they are essential pollinators of flowers, fruits and herbs. So to help organic gardeners attract Bumble bees into the garden we ve introduced a fantastic new nesting box, which ensures a dry (important for nesting bees) and safe space for the bees.
It is constructed from thick durable timbers, such as FSC Cedar and Larch. (The wood in products marked with this logo comes from well managed forests, independently certified in accordance with the rules of the Forest Stewardship Council.)
There is a hinged roof that can be opened to reveal an internal viewing window; vent holes are provided for good airflow and the floor runners help lift the box and reduce moisture. The hive comes supplied with dry nesting material, comprehensive bee guide and should be sited low down in a hedge or wall in a sheltered south facing position.
